Han Xin Receives Command

Middle lot

In autumn the kun bird changes into a great peng.

It loves to roam and rises joyfully in flight.

Soaring ten thousand li into the clouds,

all other birds cannot compare.

Original text

Original Chinese verse

余外诸禽总不能

翱翔万里云霄去

好游快乐喜飞腾

昆鸟秋来化作鹏

Allusion

Han Xin of Huaiyin first served Liu Bang after the burning of the plank roads. Many soldiers fled, and Han Xin also left. Xiao He chased him through the night and told Liu Bang that if he wished to contend for the realm, no one but Han Xin could command the armies. Han Xin was then made great general and helped found the Han dynasty through many victories.

Translated verse

This lot shows the kun transforming into the peng. Change and movement bring great blessing.

Explanation

The kun becomes the peng, beyond the reach of other birds. Once the cassia branch is broken, blessing and rank increase on their own.

Reading the sign

This matter may grow into an exceptional achievement later.

The peng is the great mythical bird transformed from the kun in Zhuangzi. It suggests something vast, heroic, and not suited to small places.

A great peng rests on great trees, not small branches. The person or matter is suited to large work; small tasks may fail to show its strength.

By question

General Matters

The sign points to a future with broad light. The matter is meant to expand, not remain small.

Love and Marriage

Your standards may be high, so a match is hard to find now. A suitable partner can appear later. If already dating, the relationship works better when the other person truly has strong qualities.

Work, Job Search, and Business

A job may be hard to find because your ideals are high. Career and enterprise can become larger over time and may eventually lead others.

Exams, Competition, and Promotion

Current results may seem mild. Store energy and prepare, because later achievement can be large.

Investment and Money

This needs long management. Do not abandon it halfway, and later reward can be substantial.

Business Trade

Keep the business long-range and keep your standards. A broad vision can later put you ahead.

Property

A transaction depends on pricing. If you reduce the expected profit, it can close.

Health

Treatment needs the right method. Random treatment is useless; remove the source of distress.

Change and Transfer

A higher change can be appreciated by others if you build it step by step.

Pregnancy and Children

If hoping for a son, do good and treat others generously.

Legal Matters

With clear reason and strong spirit, justice can finally return and victory is possible.

Finding People or Things

Distant study or development can fulfill a great wish if built solidly.
