King Wen of Zhou was skilled in divination. When King Zhou of Shang summoned him, King Wen divined misfortune and knew he would face seven years of hardship. He ordered his eldest son to govern Qi by the old rules and not leave home. King Wen was imprisoned at Youli, and his son later died after leaving to rescue him. During confinement, King Wen developed the Book of Changes, making him one of its major traditional authors.
