Li Yuan Takes the Throne

Middle lot

It is like the moon on the third, fourth, or fifth night, still lacking.

Original text

Original Chinese verse

到处光明到处圆

等待十五良宵夜

半无半有未圆全

譬若初三四五缺

Allusion

In 618, Emperor Yang of Sui was killed at Jiangdu. Li Yuan learned of it and took the throne at Taiyuan, founding Tang. He reigned for nine years before the throne passed to Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong. The story suggests a situation gradually entering a better stage.

Translated verse

This lot shows the moon not yet full. In all matters, waiting for the time is auspicious.

Explanation

Keep to the old and wait, like the new moon rising. When it becomes full, nothing is inauspicious.

Reading the sign

The matter is like the early crescent moon. It still needs waiting before it becomes full like the moon on the fifteenth.

By question

General Matters

The matter is only about one third complete. More effort, waiting, and road remain, with weather to pass before the goal.

This process naturally has storms. Decide whether to endure them toward success or restart elsewhere.
