Like an immortal crane leaving its cage,

Once free of the cage, every road opens.

Original text

Original Chinese verse

任君直上九霄宫

南北东西无阻隔

脱得樊笼路路通

宛如仙鹤出樊笼

Allusion

Jiang Ziya had failed at many things by age seventy-two. After exposing the Pipa Spirit, he received office, but when King Zhou built the Deer Terrace, Ziya advised against wasting labor and wealth. His counsel failed, so he left the capital, separated from his wife, and went west to Xiqi. There he fished at the Wei River and waited for his time.
