Nuwa Refines Stones

Middle lot

Long ago, while sailing, a needle was lost.

Today you still search the sea for it.

Even if the original needle is found,

it will cost much labor and much worry.

Original text

Original Chinese verse

也费工夫也费心

若然寻得原针在

今朝依旧海中寻

昔然行船失了针

Allusion

In ancient myth, the sky broke, the earth split, floods and fires spread, and beasts harmed people. Nuwa refined five-colored stones to mend the sky, cut the legs of a giant turtle to support the four poles, killed the black dragon, and used reed ash to control floods. Her work restored order and became one of the great civilizing myths of China.

Translated verse

This lot shows searching for a needle in the sea. Matters cost effort and mental labor.

Explanation

Blessing is the foundation of salary, and salary is the seed of blessing. This is clear enough; you should be careful and guarded.

Reading the sign

A small trouble appeared during the process and still surrounds the matter.

Solving this small trouble will take real time and effort.

By question

General Matters

This is hard to grasp and may take disproportionate effort. It is only a small matter, so look at the larger whole, let small details pass, and do your own part well.

Love and Marriage

The difficulty may be small and not worth excessive worry. If separated, reconciliation costs much and may not heal enough; moving on is advised.

Work, Job Search, and Business

Small setbacks are unavoidable. Ignore roadside weeds and keep walking the main road.

Exams, Competition, and Promotion

This is small fame or a small title. It takes effort, so weigh whether the gain is worth it.

Investment and Money

Do not remain caught in old disappointment. Keep moving with better principles.

Business Trade

A small past setback should not be endlessly recalled. Keep good principles and continue.

Property

A deal requires effort and offers only small profit. Decide for yourself whether it is worth doing.

Health

Treatment means running around, but not treating leaves the heart uneasy. When the heart settles, the body is steadier.

Change and Transfer

Changing may consume effort for tiny gain. Weigh gain and loss carefully.

Pregnancy and Children

Seeking pregnancy costs effort, and raising a child is harder still. Think carefully and choose the lighter path if needed.

Legal Matters

Litigation always costs worry. Peace between the two sides is more comfortable than winning or losing.

Finding People or Things

Searching is like finding a needle in the sea. The return may not justify the cost.

Travel and Going Abroad

Small obstacles appear on the road. Prayer and caution help you pass safely.
